Organic farmers @macaroni_organic, who produce cereals, dairy, beef & lamb from their 4500 acres on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, don’t use any artificial fertilisers or sprays & rear all their animal on grass alone. The result is nutrient dense food that contains all the vital fats & proteins needed for a healthy balanced diet.
They believe strongly in the mantra: “you are what you eat”, & are passionate conservationists who farm in harmony with nature. Providing the right habitat & environment for wildlife is as important to them as producing food for human consumption.
Sam Phillips, the brains behind the operation, says ‘’ We have adopted a ‘Regenerative’ approach to what we do, as we build & replenish our soils for future generations. Our aim is to be have zero carbon emissions in 5 years; better still we hope to be able to capture more carbon than we emit. We plant ‘herbal ley’ grass mixes (made up of lots of different legumes, grasses & herb) which the animals thrive on. ”
