Gassons View is a charming and characterful Cotswold Cottage, nestled in the village of Filkins which is just over a 5-minute drive to the town of Burford, famously known as 'The Gateway to the Cotswolds'. This hidden gem is within walking distance to the local pub, The Five Alls, as well as on the doorstep to plentiful magical walks through the countryside. Its idyllic nature is created by the cosy and traditional interior, perfect for a family or couple to enjoy a picturesque stay in the Cotswolds.
Gassons View is a quintessential Cotswold cottage located in the pretty village of Filkins, situated on the Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire border. The self-catering cottage retains many of its original features such as exposed beams, fireplace and spiral stairs, making a cosy and inviting setting. Located next to the village post office/store, adjacent to the village's outdoor swimming pool and a short walk from the award-winning pub, The Five Alls.
Sleeps up to six in four bedrooms with two bathrooms. The sitting room is through the entrance hallway into the stone flag floored living room with a two-seater sofa, three armchairs, window beach seating, coffee table, open fireplace and a flatscreen TV. The original spiral staircase leads from the sitting room up to the first floor. Please note that the staircase is relatively steep so may not be suitable for all guests.
there is a dining room with antique dining table with seating for six. The kitchen/breakfast Room is lovely and light and the table comfortably seats six; doors open out to the courtyard garden.
On the first floor the master bedroom has a superking size bed with side tables, with built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, mirrors, a chair and exposed beams. Bedroom 2 has a standard double bed, side tables, chest of drawers, and bedroom 3 is most suitable for children with bunk beds, drawers and small built in wardrobes. On the secnd floor is the 4th bedroom with a standard double bed on a raised platform, chest of drawers and pitched ceilings.
Doors from the kitchen open out onto the small patio area with barbecue and outdoor seating. Please note, the designated outdoor space is the patio area, however beyond this and down a small path is a discreet wild space that you are welcome to use At the bottom of this garden area is a gate which opens opposite the village post office, shop and swimming pool. On-road parking is at the front of the property.
