My mouth is watering just thinking about this place… The Burford Sweet Shop! It’s a portal of nostalgia, retro vibes, vibrant colours and scrumptious sweets. The traditional store is nestled among other shops along the high street, but you can’t miss it with its glowing window of jars, swirly lollipops and pyramid of handmade chocolate boxes. Inside the sweet shop is every child’s dream (and adults, although we may be hesitant to admit it) with towering shelves of every kind of candy imaginable including your classic chewy bon bons, sugar mice, dolly mix, milk gums as well as jelly beans, fizzy dummies’ and liquorice all sorts. Whatever your desire, you can weigh out how much you’d like (unfortunately you cannot take home the whole jar due to stock reasons- trust me, I’ve tried) and gets packaged in these stripy paper bags of pink and white ready to be enjoyed. Whether you’re in the Cotswolds for a weekend trip or just a day trip, this place is a must and you’re guaranteed to walk away with a little bag full of joy for yourself or a grateful child or grandchild.
