Here at The Cotswold Letting Agency we pride ourselves on the level of service we offer both to our clients and tenants. Part of our service is the advice we offer on how best to generate income from your Cotswold property.
Whilst we consider the property itself – size, location and facilities – more importantly we focus on what is the best solution for you – the owner. For every owner there is always a question around how best to generate income from the property, and our Cotswold letting agents are ideally placed to offer independent, objective advice.
What letting agent services do we offer?
We advise our clients on choosing between furnished short let in the Cotswolds along with long term rentals or private holiday let to ensure the decision you make is absolutely the right one.
Income from Furnished Short Lets
Furnished short lets don’t suit everyone, but they can be one of the most lucrative ways to generate an income from your Cotswold property. Furnished short lets are popular with homeowners caught in the gap between having sold their current home but their new home not being quite ready. Homeowners undertaking large renovations can often need a place to call home for the short term. Short lets tend to last between one and six months, and can command a higher premium than a long let property.
Income from Long Lets
Many of our owners choose to offer their property as a long let as it is important to them to have complete peace of mind in their Cotswold property investment. Whilst long lets may not generate the same monthly income as a furnished short let, you can still generate a good income from your Cotswold property whilst also having the reassurance of a tenant for six months or more. Owners who rent out their house with us on a long let basis are reassured to know we take care of everything from the marketing and viewings to the tenancy agreement and compliance reminders.

Income from Private Holiday Lets
Some of our owners have a second home that they have invested in – or may have been handed down through the family. These owners may not be overly focused on generating an income from their Cotswold property, or they may want to be able to use the property themselves throughout the year. In this instance we recommend offering the property as a private holiday let. In fact, some owners use their own home for this – enabling them to set off on an extended holiday safe in the knowledge their home is being lived in and looked after.
