The war memorial in Cheltenham’s Long Gardens on the Promenade will once again be the centrepiece for the town’s service of remembrance & civic parade.

When it comes to Culture, The Cotswolds is drowning in it! The area has inspired so many writers & poets over the years – knowing the area makes it easy to see why. Everyone from Laurie Lee & J. R. R. Tolkien to Beatrix Potter & J. M. Barrie have taken inspiration from the towns, villages & countryside they encountered during their time here.
Known for its Jazz, Science, Music & Literature Festivals, Cheltenham is known as the cultural hub of the Cotswolds as it brings writers, politicians, poets, actors as well as scientists & environmentalists to the famous spa town for talks, activities & events, but the inspiration doesn’t stop there. Creativity bursts out everywhere with independent theatres & halls across the region showcasing the best of local talent alongside world-wide names.
Museums feature strongly. The Wilson (formerly Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum) boasts a large collection of fine art & touring exhibitions, with a whole gallery dedicated to the Arts & Crafts Movement. In a protected workshop in the Cotswolds town of Broadway, the Gordon Russell Design Museum illustrates the work & influence of the renowned 20th century furniture designer.
Why not immerse yourself in Chipping Campden’s historic buildings, shops & Guild of Handicrafts, & Climb Broadway Tower, the country retreat of the English textile designer William Morris! There’s just so much to discover & enjoy, whichever way you turn!
