Sheep Street is integrated in the unbroken line of ancient houses and shops that makes up Burford High Street, which sweeps downhill towards the River Windrush and embedded in the rolling hills, with vast views of the Cotswold countryside. The property is characterized by its history; as a timber-framed Tudor house it cannot be missed.
Behind the shop front and long the wall of Sheep Street, you'll find a gate which takes you straight into the garden, which the home is immersed in. The garden and patio wrap around the entire property, providing that sense of security and privacy, which sits across several levels. It is enclosed and features a grassy verge, surrounded by plants, foliage and flowers as well as a stone patio. The patio is an absolute sun trap and absorbs the warmth on a sunny day, with doors that open out from the kitchen. The garden is equipped with outdoor furniture, such as a hanging egg chair, two sofas and a parasol which are perfect for lounging in the sun or shade! There is private parking at the top end of the garden, with room for two cars as well plentiful parking along Burford High Street.
Once you step through the front door, you're greeted with a welcoming, spacious hallway overlooked by a glorious staircase and landing lounge. To the left of the hallway, you will find the dining room, a cosy space with a large table for sit down meals or homework with kids. The dining room is adjacent to the kitchen, which is a small but light and airy room which has glass doors that open out to the patio. The kitchen is generously equipped with cooking appliances and storage. There is a long corridor situated just off the kitchen that loops back around to the hallway.
Up the grand stairs, you will be met with a spacious landing area which has been furnished with comfortable sofas, book shelves and a TV. This space is designed for relaxing, playing board games with friends and family or catching up on your favourite TV show. Equally, it could be used as a home office or workspace. There is also a second identical lounge, which can be shut off by doors, adjacent to the landing with views that overlook the garden.
Along the upstairs corridor, there is a boiler room and utility area on the right as well as a row of cupboards which are filled with towels, blankets and spare duvets plus plenty of opportunity for storage. There is also an old lift, which reflects the property's history, but is no longer in use. There are four bedrooms, three of which are doubles and the final twin. The master bedroom has an ensuite with shower and bath. The family bathroom also has a shower and bath, alongside two sinks and a loo. There are two smaller sets of stairs which lead up to the second, third and fourth bedroom.
2 Sheep Street is very spacious, with plenty of room to roam and entertain as well as being generously equipped and styled. Burford is rich in history, local amenities and hidden gems so anyone staying at 2 Sheep Street is at the doorstep of all the Cotswolds has to offer!
